History

The origins of GCE go back as far as the beginning of the twentieth century when oxy-acetylene cutting and welding methods were first invented. GCE itself was formed in 1987 through the merging of two gas equipment activities from the world's leading industrial gas companies into one entity. 

GCE Group is engaged in the development and manufacture of all types of equipment for pressure and flow control of high pressure gases.

GCE's main business was initially concentrated in the gas welding and cutting, but with nearly 100 years of experience handling high-pressure gas the scope of our products has increased. Today's product portfolio includes a wide variety of items, from simple pressure regulators and blowpipes for cutting and welding to sophisticated gas supply systems for medical and electronic industries.

GCE Group has grown rapidly since its founding and leading the restructuring of European gas equipment industry through mergers and acquisitions of companies. The head office is based in Malmö, Sweden, but GCE Group has activities in all European markets as well as a significant portion of the world market.

Production is located in the Czech Republic, Poland and China, where the main production takes place in Chotebor, about two hours’ drive east of Prague, Czech Republic. GCE has a central warehouse in Kladno, north of Prague. Over 850 people are employed in the group today.
